The White House is receiving a festive visit from Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel!
The couple, who have been dating for three years, will host HGTV’s White House Christmas in 2022 and assist in showcasing all the gorgeous holiday decorations adorning the historic mansion this season. The show, which airs on Sunday, December 11, will feature the First Lady Jill Biden as one of the hosts.
Over 150 volunteers and employees of the White House Residence assembled the elaborate decorations, which each reflect the year’s theme of “We the People.”
The theme for this year will “capture the spirit of America’s shared ideals and the belief in possibility, optimism, and unity—a reminder that we are stronger in community than we are apart,” the network said in a release.
The 44-year-old Scott tells the first lady in the special, “Everyone is represented, no matter where they live geographically. It means a lot to me to be able to appreciate the rich history that America has to offer; this is an exciting day, I recently become an American citizen, so. (Scott now has dual citizenship in the United States and Canada.)
Deschanel and Scott will display the White House’s amazing collection of ornaments, which includes 77 Christmas trees, 300 candles, 12,000 ornaments, 1,600 bells, around 14,865 feet of ribbon, and more than 83,615 Christmas lights.
The two are well known holiday devotees. yastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmasti a
The Property Brothers star and former New Girl star recently had Thanksgiving meal together in their new Los Angeles home. Scott captured the event in a charming Instagram photo.
I am grateful for so many things in my life, he wrote. “because we FINALLY celebrated our first Thanksgiving in our new house. Most significantly, I’m grateful every day of the year for you, Z.”
Since the two bought their house back in 2020 and have been completely renovating it ever since, celebrating the holiday in their finished home has taken a lot of patience.
A Drew + Jonathan Reveal issue featured the couple’s finished five-bedroom “dream home.” The new house was a hit with Deschanel’s children, including son Charlie Wolf and daughter Elsie Otter (whom she has with her ex-husband Jacob Pechenik).
Scott remembered, “It simply seemed…magical as we pulled up the drive.” “With its expansive lawn and towering California sycamores, it appeared to be a park while only covering slightly more than an acre. Because of this, the kids gave the place the nickname “Park House” when we first brought them by.”
