Get Ready With Bailey Bass for the Premiere of “Avatar: The Way of Water”

She attended the major event dressed in Christian Dior Resort ’23.

On December 16, the eagerly awaited Avatar sequel The Way of Water will be released in theatres. Bailey Bass will play Tsireya, a new figure in the story of the Na’vi civilization. Bass allowed Teen Vogue to see her and her makeup team as they prepared for the red carpet debut because it is a significant job for her.

“I want the outfits I wear when I promote a project to be motivated by that project. Avatar is as huge as it gets,” declared Bass, who engages in a great deal of imaginative planning when preparing for a significant occasion. She said, adding that she created a Pinterest board of inspiration and gave it to her stylist Andrew Gelwicks, “There’s so much to pull inspiration from.” “There must be a sense when I wear a garment. It must fulfil every need. My entire team was involved because this premiere was so significant to me and we had been waiting so long.

Bass opted for a voluminous, dark purple, off-the-shoulder Christian Dior Resort ’23 gown for the event. According to Gelwicks, “Bailey was extremely enthused about the notion of trying to bring the universe of Avatar to the carpet for the world premiere look. “We found a fantastic partner in Dior to work with us, and I’m really happy with the flowing, purple style,” said the designer. Even Bass’s oceanic-blue manicure was a tribute to Avatar and took artist Tatiana Nigay more than three hours to create.

Bass’s makeup crew began to work when the dress was selected and reserved. Before creating a looped braid, hairstylist Nicola Harrowell prepared her client’s hair with Kevin Murphy Leave-In Smoothing Treatment to keep the hair feeling hydrated. According to Harrowell, the looped braids are a homage to a halo because the glam motif was “ethereal.” “I adore this appearance; it has a high gloss without the usage of heat. More braids and natural hairstyles are needed on the red carpet.
Paul Blanche, a makeup artist, was motivated by the unique markings on Na’vi faces. He applied the Color Palette to Bass’s eyes, the Pandoran Paradise Cheek Palette to her cheeks, and the Biolume Stick Highlighter in Coral Reef to her cheeks all from the Nyx Avatar: The Way of Water collection. The white-dot embellishments in Bass’s inner corners and throughout her lower lash line were also created using the Nyx Epic Wear Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner.
Following the completion of Bailey’s makeover, a few pieces of David Yurman jewellery made the ideal final touches. Bass told Teen Vogue that in addition to being her first significant film role, Avatar: The Way of Water had a profound impact on her understanding of risk-taking and bravery. My favourite aspect of working on this production was developing my confidence in performing stunts. When I was a tween and there were camera crews and stunt people about, I would get really self-conscious because I didn’t want to let Jim down,” she recounted. “I learned to take risks thanks to the amazing stunt performers on site. I was appreciative to have such an encouraging cast and crew. Because of her work as Tsireya, Bailey said that she has earned her scuba and free-diving certifications.

It is a privilege to be a part of this franchise, which has pushed the boundaries of filmmaking, stated Bass. “And it’s even more special because I get to do it with some pretty sick folks. Playing Tsireya was enjoyable. I discovered how a grin can alter someone’s entire life while watching my performance five years later.
