Anya Taylor-Joy is giving the fashion at award shows a sophisticated yet seductive twist. Taylor-Joy came at tonight’s Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles in a nude Dior Haute Couture A-line dress with strass decoration, only days after she debuted the season at the Golden Globes in an eye-catching, ab-baring yellow bandeau and skirt. The actress from Menu arranged her golden hair in a sophisticated top knot and applied Dior Beauty cosmetics. Tiffany & Co. diamonds weighing more than 20 carats were used as accessories. Taylor-Joy, who also attended the Golden Globes with Malcolm McRae, posed both alone and with him on the red carpet. She looked stunning from head to (crystal-embellished shoe) toe. Taylor-Joy presented the programme this evening.
In November, Taylor-Joy briefly discussed her leisure with McRae and her go-to comfort film with USA Today. She described Almost Famous as her “feel better about the world” movie. “I feel so, so horrible for my boyfriend; we put it on, he had never seen it, and I couldn’t stop myself. I watched the entire movie while standing next to the television. I’m very familiar with it. The following day, he was forced to watch it without me, making it a fun experience.
She also discussed the fashion choices made by Margot from The Menu, who may have put a little too much of herself into them. She modelled Margot’s entire appearance in the film on what she wore when she was 18: the lipstick shade, the nail colour, the fact that everything was chipped, etc. “So, the other night, I went out to dinner with a buddy, and she asked, “Why are you dressed like your character from The Menu? Oh my God, I gave my identity to her! What should I do next? Unintentionally, I believe that occasionally I give the characters too much of myself, which makes it appear to be cosplay.
