The French premiere of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” took place at La Cinematheque in Paris on December 15, and Janelle Monáe added some gothic flair. In the brand-new mystery movie, which debuted in theatres on November 23 and will be available to stream on Netflix on December 23, the actress plays Helen Brand.
A matching velvet high-waisted slit skirt and a black long-sleeve turtleneck top were worn by Monáe. Both items are from Alexandre Vauthier’s fall 2022 couture line, which was influenced by the gothic and 1980s scenes.
Monáe chose a variety of dangling earrings and rings in silver to accessorise. The “I Like That” singer kept her honey blond hair up in a high bun with a side-swept bang resting on her face, emphasising her stunning makeup, which included a smokey eye and deep purple lip.
Black knee-high Stuart Weitzman boots gave the actress’s ensemble its finishing touch. The central lining of the pointed-toe sleeves met the ruched design of the pointed-toe heels. With a stiletto heel that was nearly 4 inches high, the satin boots gave the outfit height. The footwear is from the designer’s Stuart line.
The stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn, who also designed outfits for Rachel Brosnahan, Christina Ricci, and Jurnee Smollett, dressed Monáe.
